Our Staff

Robert L. Bastress II, Lic. Ac., Dipl. Ac.

I am the owner of the Integrative Medicine Center, LLC and am a National Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist. I earned a Masters degree at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland in 1999 I am a graduate of the Jaffe Institute of Spiritual and Medical Healing with a specialty in Spiritual Ministry.

This is my 19th year of private practice as an acupuncturist and I specialize in pain management, digestive disorders, and women’s health. For the past several years I have studied with Acupuncture Master Teachers from China and use a combination of Dr. Tan’s balance method as well as Dr. Ming Qing Zhu’s scalp acupuncture. These two methods of acupuncture work very well to balance the body’s meridians and organ systems. My success rate with patients has skyrocketed with these two forms of acupuncture.

Another special characteristic that I bring to my patients is my background in Spiritual Ministry. Many people come to the center for healing a physical ailment, but the real roots of the illness are an emotional situation either at work, in personal relationships, or deeper family issues. I help to guide my patient, no matter their belief system and background, to find the source of spiritual connection within your own heart. My teaching is centered around your heart connection within which brings true and complete healing for many emotional, spiritual and physical ailments.

One of my goals is community outreach and awareness of holistic health care. I provide free community natural health care “Educational Seminars” two times a month where I discuss the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to many topics including headaches/migraines, back, shoulder, neck and chronic pain, digestive issues, allergies and asthma, women’s health issues like PMS and fertility to name a few.

I have a background in teaching crane style Qigong, a Chinese medical exercise, and hapkido, a South Korean martial art, which I practice and have taught for 20 years. As a support to my patients, I offer healing exercise classes “Medical Qigong” on Monday Nights throughout the year.

We support local charities such as the American Red Cross, Breast Cancer Awareness Group of Cumberland Valley, CASA, Habitat for Humanity and MS Society.

I enjoy life to the fullest living in Warfordsburg, PA with my beautiful wife Na’Ima and my active, inquisitive 14 year old son, Salim. I am a part owner of “The Farm of Peace” an international retreat center that focuses on spiritual development, peace building and international efforts in conflict resolution.

I review each patient’s insurance coverage and benefits and present them with an overview of costs per their plan. I assist the patient with intake forms and questionnaires to get them started with their own personalized treatment plan, and answer any questions that may come up throughout their treatment at the center. My 25+ years of clinical and administrative experience in holistic health care enables me to assist the patient with their whole food supplements, ensuring availability.
